Description
God’s names are His own self-disclosure in His word.
His names are the focal point of His revelation. God’s names are essentially God himself.
As an expression of His essence, the name of God is not a temporary role He plays for a limited time. God will keep to His names; His names are the sign of God’s faithfulness towards Himself and towards those to whom He gives His name.
We take a look at God’s names in this book as given in the Old and New Testaments:
God (Elohim); LORD (Yahweh); Lord (Adonai and Kurios); Jesus Christ; Messiah; El Shaddai; El Elyon; El Olam; Yahweh-Rapha; Yahweh-Nissi; Yahweh-M’Kaddesh; Yahweh-Shammah; Yahweh-Jireh; Yahweh-Shabbaoth; Yahweh-Ra-ah and Yahweh-Tsidkenu.
